I have been a Woodturner since retirement in 2010. I am not a Professional – more a dedicated Hobby Woodturner spending time in my workshop as and when I choose. My background was a career of some 25 years in the Royal Navy followed by a further 5 years in the Sultan of Oman’s Navy. Latterly I spent 20 years in Legal Practice Management.

Initially I was happy to turn any piece of wood that came my way but as competence and confidence increased I became more selective. I now have a small but very well equipped workshop and turn mainly English hardwoods including Ash, Beech, Chestnut, Elm, Oak, Walnut, Sycamore and some fruitwoods.
